Back

Summary and Additional Back Crossovers (EP 6, page 16) – very helpful for spinal curvature, scoliosis, twist in the hips and shoulders

For tight and uneven shoulder height, pain or restriction at trapezius / latissimus dorsi overlap (EP2, page 7):

  • Levator Scapula (Modules 1&2, page 22) X Inferior Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9)

For tightness and cramp in the hips, restricted lateral flexion and / or rotation; difficulty reaching across the body when bending forward (EP3, page 8):

  • Superior Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X Piriformis (Module 5, page 14)

For upper back cramp and upper back pain; unable to straighten up and lack of movement in lifting arms; difficulty taking a deep breath, mid-back restriction and rib tightness (EP3, page 9):

  • Superior Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X Lats-Traps (EP3, page 9)

EP 4 Combinations to allow access to address pain, where pain radiates outwards from a central area, contributing to restricted flexion and rotation and lower back compression:

  • QL Point (Modules 1&2, page 11)
  • Superior Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9)
  • Levator Scapula (Modules 1&2, page 22)
  • SI Joint (EP3, page 6)

Use crossovers below as indicated

Where pain radiates centrally around the QL area:

  • Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X QL (Modules 1&2, page 11)

Where pain radiates down into the sacral area:

  • Lat dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X SI Joint (EP3, page 6)

Where pain radiates up into the upper back:

  • Lev Scap (Modules 1&2, page 22) X SI Joint (EP3, page 6)

The following is also found in EP 6, page 16).  It is a long back crossover to stretch out between the points; to release tension along the TFL, to take pressure off the SI Joint; to take pressure off the shoulders. This is also good prep for SI Joint releases (EP5, page 6):

  • Superior Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X Mid ITB Point (Module 3, page 8)

Back – cramp

Sequence Suggestions

EP3, page 17

  • Back Cramp (EP3, page 9)
  • Rhomboid 45 (Modules 1&2, page 19)
  • Lev Scap / 45 (Modules 1&2, page 22)
  • Lat Dorsi X Piriformis (EP3, page 8)
  • 12th Rib / Psoas standing (Modules 1&2, page 14)

Back – lower back compression

Lower back compression with pain radiating out from waist

Sequence Suggestions

EP4, page 17

  • Lev Scap X SI Joint (EP4, page 7)
  • Lat Dorsi X SI Joint (EP4, page 7)
  • Lat Dorsi X QL (EP4, page 7)
  • Lower Back Compression (EP4, page 6)
  • 12th Rib / Psoas (Modules 1&2, page 14)

Back – restricted access due to tension in muscles

Restricted access due to tension in muscles, pain radiates outwards from central area, restricted flexion and rotation

Crossovers for Lower Back

EP4, page 7

Use crossovers below as indicated

Where pain radiates centrally around the QL area:

  • Lat Dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X QL (Modules 1&2, page 11)

Where pain radiates down into the sacral area:

  • Lat dorsi (Module 4, page 9) X SI Joint (EP3, page 6)

Where pain radiates up into the upper back:

  • Lev Scap (Modules 1&2, page 22) X SI Joint (EP3, page 6)

Bladder

Sequence Suggestion

EP5, page 18

  • Iliacus / Oblique (Modules 1&2, page 13)
  • 12th Rib / Psoas (Modules 1&2, page 14)
  • Bladder (Module 6, page 7)

Bladder – correction (Pelvic Care course)

Possible indications:

Always check Spinal Balance before commencement. If Spinal Balance is needed proceed with Gracilis and Adductor Magnus (Emmett finger in direction towards ear) and no more.

When Spinal Balance is not necessary, use the following suggested treatment:

If desired result is achieved, do NOT repeat Bladder move (Module 6) as it may undo previous result.

Bowel – correction (Pelvic Care course)

Possible indications:

Always check Spinal Balance (EP1, pages 6&7) before commencement.  If Spinal Balance is needed, proceed with Gracilis (EP5, page 8) and Adductor Magnus (EP3, page 7 with Emmett finger back towards sacrum) and no more.  With Spinal Balance, perform sacrum moves 3 x each side, pulling up on alternating sides.

When Spinal Balance is not necessary, use the following suggested treatment:

This would be repeated in 2 days and again in 5 days for best results.
